Where to Stay

All wedding day events will be held at the Coyle's home just 10 minutes from downtown Waitsfield.

Bus transportation for Friday & Saturday's events will be provided to-and-from all local accommodations. Please see below for recommended inns and advice for booking Airbnbs/private rentals.

Inns

Most hotel accommodations in the Mad River Valley are quaint inns and B&Bs. Please note that many of the inns do not have onsite dining; we have noted the hotels that do have dining options with an asterisk.

Airbnbs/Rentals

There are tons of Airbnbs, VRBOs, and other rentals in the area that are great options for larger groups and families. If planning to take the bus transportation to the wedding on Saturday, please book within Waitsfield,
Warren or Fayston. On a map the Waitsfield town center may show as Irasville, but all addresses should show as Waitsfield.

Some locations may require that you walk/drive a short distance to an easier pickup location for the buses due to road conditions. Please email Harry & Jackie before you book if you want to be sure it's a good location and a bus will be able to pick up your group (mitchellcoyle1210@gmail.com).

Friday Night Transportation

Two buses will transport guests to/from Welcome Drinks from central locations. They will each run two pick-up loops.

Please see below for the set pick-up times and locations, as well as the timing for the two drop-offs.

Friday Night Bus Drop-Offs:

The buses will begin drop-off routes back to those same locations starting at 9:00 pm.

If you’re hoping to take the bus home on Friday night and are not within walking distance of one of these locations, please confirm with a bus driver that they can take you back to your destination along their planned route before drinking. Drop-offs to locations outside of those listed above are likely to be OK but not guaranteed.

Saturday Night Transportation

On Saturday, 6 buses will run to and from all locations (including AirBnbs). Please find the specific transportation schedule in the PDF below.

If it ends up raining on Saturday (fingers crossed it stays dry!), the ceremony will be held at Mad River Barn. Buses will run on the same schedule, and the cocktail hour/reception will still be held at the Coyle Family Home. We will announce if we’re doing the rain plan via email and on our website by 12 PM on Saturday.

Things To Do

There's lots to do in the Mad River Valley. We've linked a few of our favorite local restaurants & activities below, but you can also day-trip to the larger towns of Stowe or Burlington which are ~45 minutes away. If you're interested in hiking or mountain biking, AllTrails is the best resource to find nearby trails suited for your group.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I rent a car?

A car for the group you're traveling with is recommended. Transportation will be provided to and from all wedding events, but a car will be the easiest way to get to the Mad River Valley and explore any activities in the area.

Will transportation be provided?

We'll be providing shuttle buses to transport to-and-from the welcome drinks & wedding venues (for inns & private Airbnbs/VRBOs). Unless you must, we'd prefer that folks leave their keys at home for the evening. If you need to drive to the wedding day events, please let Jackie & Harry know, as parking on Saturday is limited.

What's the dresscode?

Each event, from Friday's welcome drinks to Saturday's reception, will take place outside on grassy lawns (weather permitting). Please keep that in mind when considering footwear!

Friday | Summer Cocktail: Ladies, think maxi dresses, sundresses & comfortable shoes. You may want to bring a sweater as nights can get chilly! Gents, slacks & a button-down are great; blazers are optional.

Saturday | Summer Formal: Ladies, think colorful midi-maxi length dresses; block heels are recommended (skinny heels will sink!). Gents, suits would be great; ties are optional.

What should I do if I can't find lodging or transportation?

Where should I park on Sunday?

There's a large parking lot adjacent to the restaurant that can accommodate everyone's cars.

Plug in 'Reign Vermont' (or 4461 Main St., Waitsfield, VT) to Maps for a more accurate location. Feel free to park anywhere in the lot, then walk along the river to the covered bridge (it sounds more complicated than it is).

Donuts, coffee, and made-to-order breakfast sandwiches will be served. Wear whatever you're traveling in (and bring a bathing suit if you're interested in hopping in the river).
